In our "Portfolio Talk" series, we introduce you to the bmp portfolio companies. Today: 5 questions to Prof. Dr. Michael Schulz from Indalyz Monitoring & Prognostics
Who are you and what is your business?
My name is Michael Schulz, founder and CEO of Indalyz Monitoring & Prognostics GmbH, a still relatively young company. We specialize in the development of software and hardware concepts for process control and preventive-predictive monitoring of the technological state of autonomous machines – eg. wind turbines, pipeline compressors, valves of large-scale plants or marine engines.
What is your vision and where do you see your company in 5 years?
We have firmly embedded our vision in the business plan. Our goal is to build up expertise in the field of artificially intelligent control systems and machine condition monitoring in the next few years so that we can speak of innovation leadership at least in the European market.
What is your secret sauce in company set-up?
A) A team with differentiated technical expertise that is capable of playing each other's balls and B) our idea of offering each customer a solution that is largely tailored to his operating concept and business model.
Your biggest success so far?
On the one hand, we were able to launch several cooperation projects with the leading condition monitoring company for wind turbines, which we intend to expand further in the future. On the other hand, our technological concept was awarded with one of the famous Hugo-Junkers-prizes in 2017.
Why did you choose bmp Ventures as partner?
Because the Startup Gladiator-program suits us very well. It provides stability plus an essential boost to our startup. In addition, the process from first contact to closing was super fast, but thorough and fair. The employees of bmp Ventures proved to be extremely competent and helpful in all matters.
