Magdeburg, September 6, 2017 - bmp Ventures AG has successfully sold the stake in benjamin GmbH held by IBG Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt’s to a strategic investor from China. In doing so, the company will receive the funds it needs to form international joint ventures and gain strategic support for a broad market launch. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
benjamin GmbH was established in 2009 and is based in Magdeburg. With “Fluid Logistics”, the company has developed a universal material flow and process logistics technology with which an unlimited number of objects, devices, machinery and robots of any kind can be freely moved and positioned with great precision in a highly dynamic, flexible and fully automatic manner – on-demand and simultaneously. With this technology, it is possible to achieve a significant upturn in turnaround, run logistics and production processes in parallel, at the same time saving space and energy.
Since 2010, IGB has invested in the company via the Risikokapitalfonds II fund and has financed and facilitated the development of this technology with this investment.
Dr Maren Gerasch, the investment manager in charge, explains: “’Fluid Logistics’ has since developed from a pre-prototype into a prototype that is ready to market. In the context of an international rollout, benjamin needs not only additional funds, but particularly an experienced partner who will provide assistance with this market launch. We are delighted that benjamin has found an ideal partner with this new shareholder and wish the team every success in the steps to come.”
