Heliocentris wins du Partner Award and signs further contract with a value of approx. 1.6 million EUR

  • UAE’s second largest telecom provider presents Partner Award to Heliocentris
  • The Purchase Agreement existing since 2011 is extended for solar-hybrid solutions
  • Purchase order, delivery and installation of 30 solar-hybrid solutions planned for 2015

Heliocentris Energy Solutions AG (ISIN DE000A1MMHE3), a technologically leading supplier of hybrid energy supply solutions, has been granted a Partner Award by the “Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company – du“, UAE’s second largest telecom provider. The Partner Award honors companies that have contributed with specific performances to making du one of the region’s most successful mobile operators. Companies like Ericsson, Cisco, Huawei and Nokia are award winners in other categories. In his award address Saleem Al Balooshi, du Executive Vice President Network Development and Operations, acknowledged Heliocentris for their “exceptional performance“, their “service quality” and their “innovative capacity”, which all contributed significantly to the reduction of operating costs and greenhouse gases. On the basis of its Energy Management System, Heliocentris has deployed several solutions in du’s network ranging from monitoring and diesel-hybrid solutions to innovative “Free Cooling” solutions.

du extended the purchase agreement existing since 2011 and awarded Heliocentris a contract for the turnkey retrofit of another 30 off-grid base stations with solar-hybrid solutions and their subsequent maintenance in light of this award and the long standing successful cooperation. The order amounts to approx. EUR 1.6 million and shall become revenue in the upcoming months.

More than 350 base stations of the du network are currently equipped with Heliocentris’ energy management and energy efficiency solutions. The use of photovoltaic technology is the next step in du’s sustainable development strategy to adopt green solutions into their infrastructure.
